Description:

National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Requirements:

Basic Requirement: This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement. To meet minimum qualifications for the position, applicants must possess: Eligible for GS-14 or equivalent; AND Hold a Bachelor's degree; AND Have completed all mandatory requirements for Level II or Level III certification as prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to higher level contracting positions; AND Possess four (4) years of acquisition experience, at least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower grade level of the position, and must have provided knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position. AND

In addition to meeting the basic requirement for the position, qualified applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-13 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized Experience is defined as: experience with acquisition planning, procurement, and contracting management.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
