Description:

As an Equipment Specialist, you will work in a developmental capacity assisting Senior Specialists in the evaluation of nationwide policies and programs; utilizing the National Computerized Maintenance Management System (NCMMS).

This position is located in the Potomac Service Center.

    The GS-11 salary range starts at $62,107 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

    To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements for geographical considerations, and market conditions to assist in determining the most efficient and effective method to contract for building services.; analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements; preparing statements of work and serving as the contractor representative to ensure compliance with contracts; analyzing contract specifications and determining if they are met; and analyzing and researching equipment problems or customer issues and making appropriate recommendations from many alternatives.

    The GS-12 salary range starts at $74,441 per year. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience:

  • utilizing Building Automation System (BAS) in the administration of building systems (HVAC, lighting, advanced metering, etc.);
creating and employing smart buildings operation and strategy processes; developing, adapting, and implementing procedures and guidance to end users; and providing project support and delivery for Building Automation Systems (BAS) equipment and services.
