Time-in-Grade: Current and former GS federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the federal service planning, managing, and developing an organization's emergency management and continuity of operations programs.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Travel to other FLETC sites may be required approximately 20% of the time. Driving a vehicle may be required. Trips to other elements within the organization are routine and trips to other government agencies or contractor sites may be
required. Intense concentration and performance of duties at maximum capability are required to meet deadlines. No special or out-of-the-ordinary physical effort is required unless during a real emergency or natural disaster. In such cases, long hard hours may be expected.
Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an office setting where no unusual safety precautions are required. However, during emergencies and natural disasters, working conditions may be austere. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, cooled, and ventilated. Position does spend time in private or on public transportation.
